Charlton's Authenticity Prescription: Make Feeling Good Your Highest Priority!

Your Authenticity is key to your happiness, peace and success. And feeling good indicates you are being authentic, so start caring more about how you feel!  Recognizing when you feel good, and when you don’t, is a great place to start. Throughout your day, remembering that your intention is to feel good definitely helps too.

To enjoy Feeling Good More Often, practice the following habits of Authenticity. Experiment with all the suggestions – they all provide benefits. Appreciate the times you DO feel good and be open to the feeling good lasting.

Habits of Authenticity:

  • Talk about what you do want, not what you don’t want:

    You get more of what you talk about because ‘What You Put Out Is What You Get Back’.

 

  • Trust your Inner Guidance:

    This means following your interests, passions, inspiration and excitement; be guided more by your heart and less by your head.

 

  • Imagine with Feel-Good Emotions:

    Imagining what you want feels good AND helps it occur. Remember to focus on WHAT you want, WHY you want it, and how good it FEELS (rather than on HOW to get it).

 

  • Look for things to appreciate:

    All day, every day – feeling appreciation attracts more for you to appreciate!

 

  • Care Less what others think, say and do: 

    a) by not judging or blaming others, and
    b) by not letting negativity outside yourself distract you from feeling good.

 

  • Smile 🙂

    Smiling produces feel-good hormones, helps you live longer, and inspires others.

 

  • Drink 2+ litres of water per day:

    Water helps lubricate your body, flush out toxins, and energizes you (to name just a few of many benefits!)

 

  • Take responsibility for how you feel:

    The emotions you feel are caused by your choices of thoughts and perspectives; blaming others for your feeling ‘not good’ doesn’t work.

 

  • Making someone else happy’ is not your job:

    Everyone is responsible for their own happiness.

 

  • Live in the moment:

    Celebrate and savour the good stuff along your journey. When you notice things going well, say ‘thank you – bring me more!’
